About
My journey as an artist began as early as I was old enough to watch animated films and be captivated by their color, artistry, and endless variety of visual styles. Those early experiences sparked my imagination and inspired me to create worlds and ideas of my own.
Over time, art became a way of seeing—a lens through which I began to notice beauty, meaning, and humanity in places and ways of life that might otherwise go unseen or unappreciated. Through my work, I hope to encourage others to look more closely, to remain curious, and to find value in witnessing ways of living beyond their own.
Artist Statement
My work is rooted in discovery, wonder, and emotional transformation. It’s shaped by my life in Mexico, where observing people’s interactions, rhythms, and ways of life has expanded my understanding of the world beyond what I knew growing up in my hometown in the United States. My perspective was also deeply influenced by my first time in a country where the language spoken was not my own, in France—an experience that heightened my awareness of both difference and connection across cultures.
Through layered acrylic on canvas, a still-life-inspired painterly approach, and soft yet saturated color, I create work that invites curiosity, empathy, and reflection. I hope my paintings encourage viewers to feel a deeper sense of connection to cultures, communities, and lived experiences that may be unfamiliar or overlooked, while also recognizing the shared humanity that exists across those differences.
